Trick or treat trade-in with Nestlé’s confectionery brand Wonka

Nestlé’s confectionery brand Wonka is celebrating the Halloween season by launching the first-ever sweet-swapping event in six cities in the United States.

The one-day event, which takes place on November 1, encourages consumers over the age of 13 to exchange their unwanted ‘trick or treat sweets’ for Wonka products including Nerds, Laffy Taffy and SweeTarts.

American confectionery store It’Sugar will host trade-in events in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Myrtle Beach, Santa Clara and Scottsdale. See the WonkaWeen press release for locations here.

‘Join in the fun’

“Everyone ends up with a pile of candy they don’t like after Halloween, so who better to turn a negative into a very sweet positive but Willy Wonka himself,” said Tricia Bowles of the Confections & Snacks Division in Nestlé USA.

“We are encouraging Wonka fans to visit one of the participating It’Sugar stores to join in the fun and to get their favorite Wonka treats for free,” she added.

WonkaWeen

The Wonka brand has been part of Nestlé USA for nearly 30 years.

Its sweet-swap is part of the brand’s month-long campaign ’32 days of WonkaWeen’.

Other WonkaWeen launches include the Ghost Hunt Game, a new social media game available on Wonka’s Facebook page.

People visiting the page can unravel a mystery and collect virtual Wonka products as part of the interactive game.
