Nestlé Marketing Conference turns into Incredible Food Drive
Conference goers end up purchasing & donating $10,000 worth of food
Los Angeles, CA – Seven hundred Nestlé employees, who attended a recent marketing conference in Southern California, were asked to shop for products as if they were average consumers on a budget to come up with healthy meals. At the end of the experience, all the food purchased by the participants was donated to the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank. The organizers of the training session also wanted to make a big impact in their local community.
“We are very grateful to be part of this corporate training exercise that has such a great community support component,” said Michael Flood, President and CEO of the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank. “September is Hunger Action Month and we hope that the actions and generosity of Nestlé inspires other companies to find a way to incorporate a charitable component into their major company functions as well. The current economic situation has put even greater pressure on our local agencies, so Nestlé’s involvement couldn’t have come at a better time.”
“Nestlé USA has partnered with Feeding America and its network of affiliated food banks since 1997,” said Rita Henderson, Nestlé Community Affairs and Educational Programs. “We are pleased that we were able to support the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank as part of our marketing conference.”
