#Nestlé150for150 Makes a Difference Across the U.S.

From beautifying public parks to helping kids get active, see how our 6,000 employees made an impact in their communities.

Celebrating our 150th birthday on August 4, 2016 wasn’t just about eating cake (though we did, and it was delicious!) To mark this milestone, Nestlé in the U.S. organized our largest-ever day of community service, with 6,000+ employees participating in more than 150 events across the country.

Cleaning up our water in Stamford, Connecticut

Nestlé employees in Stamford, Connecticut, spent the day removing invasive species and trash from the Mill River. The United Nations estimates 663 million people in the world (twice the population of the United States) have no access to clean water. From community spaces to donations, we’re committed to improving water quality and availability around the world.

Providing school supplies for students in Fort Worth, Texas

Just in time for the new school year, Nestlé employees in Fort Worth provided more than 1,200 students with backpacks and school supplies. Why is helping students so important to us? We prioritize education, and we’re acutely aware of the challenging job market. By 2018, we will offer 24,000 job opportunities and 7,000 apprenticeship, internship or traineeship positions across the Americas.

Breaking the cycle of poverty in Paterson, New Jersey

Nestlé volunteers served up sweet treats and had a blast creating crafts with the children and parents at Oasis Haven for Women and Children.Their mission is to break the cycle of poverty with programs designed to feed, clothe, educate, and empower.

Having fun with fitness in Los Angeles, California

Last year, we teamed up with Boys and Girls Clubs of America to sponsor National Fitness Competitions across the country, inspiring our next generation of kids to get active and have fun with sports. Our employees, joined by Olympic champions Jackie Joyner-Kersee and Gail Devers, helped out at one of our biggest competitions to date with more than 200 kids from clubs in Southern California. With soccer, running, table tennis, archery, and more, there was an activity that every kid could enjoy!

Preparing pets to find forever homes in Saint Louis, Missouri

We’re committed to helping pets lead healthy lives. Our Nestlé Purina employees spent the day cuddling, bathing, feeding, and playing fetch with the rescue dogs and cats at Gateway Pet Guardians. Their mission is to help these animals socialize, so that one day they can find their forever home.

Promoting healing through art in Oakland, California

For those in the hospital, art helps soothe nerves and aids the healing process. We teamed up with the Boys and Girls Club of Oakland to help cheer up patients’ days.
