Elizabell Marquez, Marketing Director, Ready-to-Drink (RTD) Beverages and Coffee, Nestlé USA, has found a career to truly “feed” her passions. Having worked at Nestlé for more than 11 years, Elizabell’s depth of experience marketing some of the company’s best loved brands has fed not only her love of food, but also nurtured her ability to lead, empower and inspire her teams.
Responsible for marketing strategy, innovation and renovation, and consumer communications, Elizabell’s varied portfolio offers her genuine insight to consumer needs across ages and stages. “My work allows me to learn about moms entering the milk modifier category with Nesquik, millennials on our Nesquik RTD business and Hispanics on Nescafé,” said Elizabell.
Working cross-functionally has kept Elizabell inspired. “I really enjoy the people and teams I get to work with,” said Elizabell. “They are very talented and passionate about our brands and together, we love finding ways to connect with consumers.”
Elizabell also believes in nurturing a diverse workforce to better serve our consumer base. “Our consumer base is highly diverse in both race and gender so it is critical that we have a work force representative of that,” she said. “Today, women are making most of the household decisions – we need to reflect that in our thinking and plans – and having a diverse work force helps us ensure that we are reflecting the consumer in our day-to-day.”
As a working mother of two young children, Elizabell recognizes the effort that it takes to balance a career with one’s personal life. She enjoys yoga on the weekends and her position on the board of a nonprofit organization benefiting at-risk children. Elizabell lives each day with what she has fostered through her Nestlé career – an honest passion for generating environments of support and creating connections with those her work touches.
