Quirky new survey conducted by LEAN POCKETS® brand sandwiches finds that Americans crave variety—and fun—in their meals and entertainment

Americans are looking to mix things up when it comes to both their mealtimes and their daily dose of pop culture, according to new data(1) released by LEAN POCKETS® brand sandwiches. To mark the launch of a new online campaign highlighting the LEAN POCKETS brand’s hottest combination of 2014, delicious protein and pretzel bread sandwiches, LEAN POCKETS sandwiches surveyed 1,000 Americans about what hot combinations they’d most like to see in this year. 

The new LEAN POCKETS sandwiches survey shows that most of us need to spice up our mealtime menus. On average, Americans eat the same meal four times per week, and they are also bored with their usual sandwiches. Nearly half of Americans think the lunchtime staple grilled cheese needs a makeover, and almost 20% would give the turkey club a redo. Americans do have some ideas for making meals more exciting: 49% think hot and savory is the most irresistible flavor combo. LEAN POCKETS sandwiches released its new survey to highlight ways Americans can spice up their menus in 2014, using the LEAN POCKETS brand sandwiches product line which features 19 flavorful varieties. 

“There is no question Americans like variety, but we found out they can use some help when it comes to making mealtime more interesting,” said brand manager Kevin Holmes. “We want them to know they can count on LEAN POCKETS sandwiches—our range of savory sandwiches deliver hot combinations, like protein and pretzel bread, that help consumers shake up mealtime monotony.”

(1) The Lean Pockets Survey was conducted by Wakefield Research among 1,000 nationally representative U.S. adults ages 18+, between December 11th and December 17th, 2013, using an email invitation and an online survey. Quotas have been set to ensure reliable and accurate representation of the U.S. adult population 18+.

Results of any sample are subject to sampling variation. The magnitude of the variation is measurable and is affected by the number of interviews and the level of the percentages expressing the results. For the interviews conducted in this particular study, the chances are 95 in 100 that a survey result does not vary, plus or minus, by more than 3.1 percentage points from the result that would be obtained if interviews had been conducted with all persons in the universe represented by the sample.
