Nestlé in Michigan

Our Michigan story began in the kitchen in a Fremont home, where young mother Dorothy Gerber struggled to strain solid foods to feed her baby daughter. When her husband, Dan, suggested he can strain fruits and vegetables at his canning business, it sparked the beginning of what became Gerber Baby Foods. In 2007, Gerber joined Nestlé Nutrition as a global force that would inspire parents everywhere to feed their children the healthiest foods possible. To this day, Gerber still sources its high-quality raw ingredients from over 50 local farmers within 100 miles of the company’s birthplace.

Nestlé in Michigan and its employees are dedicated community neighbors and community members, partnering with local non-profit organizations and engaging in service initiatives across the state to bring good food, good life to Michigan residents. For example, Gerber has been the proud sponsor of the Baby Food Parade and Festival in Fremont for over 20 years. Here’s a glimpse of what Nestlé volunteers did in Michigan.
