Nestlé USA today announced it has fully eliminated Food, Drug & Cosmetic (FD&C) colors from its U.S. food and beverage portfolio, achieving its commitment to do so by mid-2026.

With this milestone, Nestlé USA’s entire portfolio is now free of FD&C colors. In recipes where these ingredients were previously used, the company has removed or replaced them with alternative solutions while maintaining the quality, taste and experience people expect. Updated recipes are already arriving on shelves, and consumers can check product labels for more information.

This effort is rooted in Nestlé’s long-standing dedication to evolve its offerings with changing consumer needs and preferences. Over the past decade, the company has worked to simplify recipes, enhance ingredient transparency, and expand choice across its brands—offering today’s consumers a variety of options across taste, nutrition, convenience and price points.

“Consumers expect more choice, more transparency, and products they can feel good about,” said Marty Thompson, CEO of Nestlé USA. “We will keep evolving in ways that matter to them, while strengthening trust in our brands and offering high-quality food and beverages. Eliminating FD&C colors from our portfolio is one more way we continue to meet those expectations while delivering the quality people know and expect from Nestlé USA.”

This work reflects Nestlé USA's ongoing commitment to quality and transparency, evolving with consumer preferences and delivering tasty, nutritious, high-quality food and beverages, today and for generations to come.
