Nestlé USA Building Workforce for the Future through New Apprenticeship Programs

Expanding our Apprenticeships Program
Back to Press releases
Arlington, VA,

Today Nestlé USA announced the creation of five new supply chain focused apprenticeship programs that have been registered with the Department of Labor. As part of Nestlé’s Project Opportunity, these positions seek to address current supply chain challenges and labor gaps while offering career opportunities and on-the-job training for Americans.

Building on the success of its current manufacturing apprenticeship programs, these new supply chain programs will more than double the number of Nestlé apprentices by 2025. Additionally, by partnering with Fastport to develop these as a National Apprenticeship Program, other companies can leverage the registered programs to build their workforce.

“For Nestlé, developing and retaining a skilled workforce that’s fit for the future is imperative for our business’s growth,” said Jim Wells, Chief Supply Chain Officer, Nestlé USA. “The supply chain industry is innovating rapidly with the use of new technology and having the right people with the right capabilities will help move the industry forward.”

Nestlé’s new programs offer opportunities beyond skilled maintenance trades - including entry level Industrial Truck operators and entry level logistics apprenticeships designed to develop supply chain professionals. Nestlé will also launch their first managerial level apprenticeship for Distribution Center Supervisors.

“Our apprenticeship programs continue to make a positive impact in the lives of our people both in the workplace and beyond – giving them the skills needed to thrive in the workplace of today and tomorrow,” said Judy Cascapera, Chief People Officer Nestlé USA. "Additionally, these programs foster a sense of team that is so important to our employees in creating connections with each other and with the businesses and brands we support.”
