At Nestlé, our purpose is to unlock the power of food to enhance quality of life for everyone, today and for generations to come. That purpose came to life on September 11th, as Nestlé employees across the country joined thousands of volunteers for 9/11 Day's annual meal-packing events, helping support local food banks and packing more than 18 million meals that will support families facing food insecurity.
From Washington, D.C. to Cleveland, Tampa and Boston, colleagues rolled up their sleeves in communities nationwide, honoring a day of remembrance through service while helping increase access to food in the communities where we live and work.
For many employees, the day was an opportunity to honor the spirit of service that emerged in the aftermath of September 11th while helping make a difference in their local communities. Here's what a few volunteers had to say about the experience:
