Growing Our Ingredients with Care
Good food depends on high-quality ingredients, and this commitment starts on the farm. For generations we’ve partnered with farmers to grow and harvest quality ingredients with care. We’re also working closely with farmers to accelerate the adoption of regenerative agriculture practices—such as planting cover crops, reducing tillage, and reducing the use of pesticides—that can enhance the environment and help improve the soil quality where our ingredients grow.
The U.S. is home to nearly two million farms, and we source from thousands of them, securing high quality ingredients like vegetables, fruits, and grains to make the beloved products so many Americans choose to have in their kitchens.

Behind every Nestlé product is a dedicated team of chefs and culinary experts who craft our recipes with a keen focus on the quality of the ingredients. We have deep expertise in nutrition; our internal health and wellness experts, including registered dietitians, work closely with our product development teams to ensure our foods and beverages are high-quality and meet diverse dietary needs. We understand that nutritional needs and dietary preferences are constantly evolving, and we evolve along with them. Over the years, we’ve purposefully simplified many of our recipes. This includes removing ingredients such as artificial colors and flavors, reducing added sugar and sodium and incorporating beneficial ingredients such as whole grains, fiber, protein and other essential nutrients.
For example, more than 90% of our current portfolio does not include synthetic colors. Building on this progress, we are accelerating our work to eliminate all FD&C colors from our U.S. food and beverage portfolio by mid-2026.
