In March 2009, Nestlé officially opened a state-of-the art factory and distribution center in Anderson, Indiana – one of Nestlé’s largest ever investments.
Programme description
From day one, when we started building the facility, we wanted to minimize the impact we have on the environment. This has involved trying to reduce our consumption of water and also looking at how we can re-use waste water.
Value to Society
We have worked with the city’s authorities to develop effective drainage systems, and even partnered with other industries in the area to conserve energy and water to ensure that we have a positive impact on the community.
Value to Nestlé
More than 700 employees work in the Nestlé Anderson facility, which is more than double the original headcount when the plant was first opened in 2009. Since Nestlé Andersons opening in 2009, we’ve expanded twice.
Nestle believes that it’s our duty to give back to the community. As such, we participate in numerous community activities and support several Anderson schools. We are also an active supporter of United Way.
